Introduction to XSLT

A NELINET Workshop
December 1st, 2004
9:30 - 3:30

This course will provide a hands-on introduction to the eXtensible Stylesheet Language for Transformations (XSLT). There will be a short introduction to XSLT and and its relationship to other stylesheet languages, but the majority of the day will be spent building XSLT files. Topics such as the basic syntax of XSLT, the construction of simple templates, conditional expressions and sorts will be covered. Students will leave with working, validated XSLT files and a basic grounding in how XML and XSLT work together, and how they may be put into use. There are no formal prerequisites, but familiarity with HTML is strongly suggested. Students should bring a blank diskette since they will leave with working, usable files.
