ARTICLES
AGREED upon, by and between Abraham Whipple Master of the good, Brigt.
called the George — of Providence — now lying in the harbor,
of Providence and bound for Surinam — and from thence back to providence
AND we the Seamen and Mariners belonging to the said Brigt — do hereby declare ourselves fully agreed to perform
the said Voyage, under the Penalty of Five Pounds Sterling for each Man; by the Help of GOD. Further, we acknowledge
ourselves fully satisfied with the Wages to which we have subscribed our Names, acknowledging ourselves to have received One Month's
Pay in Hand, at Agreement, as below subscribed. And we the Master and Seament further oblige ourselves to the Forfeitures following,
to wit: The Master for not coming to Agreement with his Men in Writing, forfeits for each Man, Five Pounds Sterling. Seamen or
Mariners abseting themselves from the Said Brigt — or Service of the Voyage without Leave of the Master, each
Man, for each Day's Absence, forfeits two Day's Pay. Further, any Seaman or Mariner leaving the Said Briggt before
discharged, forfeits One Month's Pay. These being drawn by Direction of an Act of Parliament, made for the Benefit of Greenwich
Hospital, and Regulation between Masters and Seamen: As Witness our Hands. At Providence the 30th of October
