Arthur Gerald Akerman (1876 - 1960)
He was born at Blackheath and educated at New College, Eastbourne. He studied art at Heatherley's and later at the Royal Academy Schools, where he won the Creswick Prize and the Landseer Scholarship. He painted widely in Britain but mainly in Norfolk after settling in Blakeney.
