The Library participates in three services which allow Brown students, faculty and staff to place direct online requests to borrow books from partner libraries for expedited delivery to Brown. Use easyBorrow (above) to search once and let us select the quickest service that meets your needs. If none of our partners can supply an item, easyBorrow will automatically pass your request to Interlibrary Loan. You may instead select from the individual services below but you will have to re-key your search for each service.

  1. Borrow Direct provides a single, searchable catalog of the combined holdings of Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, University of Pennsylvania, Princeton and Yale. more information

  2. The Virtual Catalog provides a single, searchable catalog of books owned by participating libraries of the Boston Library Consortium.  more information

  3. InRhode combines the resources of Josiah with those of other Rhode Island academic libraries. Requests may be made directly from Josiah. more information
  Search EITHER Borrow Direct or the Virtual Catalog:
1. Login with your 14-digit Brown ID Barcode:
   Note: You can use 'guest' to search without placing requests.
    
2. Select a Borrowing Service:

    • You may search Borrow Direct or the Virtual Catalog by author, title, or ISBN number.
    • You may review the status of your requests at any time.
    • When material arrives you will be notified by e-mail and may pick it up at the Rockefeller Circulation Desk.
