Material stored at the Library Collections Annex has one of two locations in JOSIAH:
- ANNEX (circulating materials)
- ANNEX HAY (special collections materials which do not circulate and must be consulted at the John Hay Library)
1. Requesting ANNEX Materials -- see sample Josiah record
Materials with the location "ANNEX" may be borrowed by Brown ID and borrowing card holders. To submit a
request for delivery to campus find this icon 
on your search result screen. Click it and you will be asked to enter your Brown username and password. You may select the
Rock, Sciences, or Orwig libraries as the pick-up location for "Annex" materials. Items with the "Annex"
location may also be requested at Library circulation desks. Our goal is to deliver requested materials on the next business day (Monday-Friday).
Electronic delivery of articles from journals located at the "ANNEX" is now available.

2. Requesting ANNEX HAY Materials -- see sample Josiah record
Materials with the location "ANNEX HAY" are from special collections and do not circulate. Upon request they will be delivered to campus for consultation at the John Hay Library. Our goal is to deliver requested materials on the next business day (Monday-Friday). To determine if a circulating copy of special collections material might be available, click the "Check InRhode" button on a Josiah search result screen or consult More Borrowing Options.
- Retrieval of "ANNEX HAY" Materials for Brown ID & Borrowing Card Holders:
If this icon
appears on the search result screen, click it to request that the item be delivered to the John Hay Library. You will be
asked to enter your Brown username and password. Some materials, including manuscript collections, are not requestable in
this way; for these exceptions please use our storage request form, contact
hay@brown.edu, or submit a request in person at the Reader Services desk in
the John Hay Library. - Retrieval of "ANNEX HAY" Materials for Non-Brown Users:
Users who do not have a Brown ID or borrowing card may arrange to consult "Annex Hay" material by submitting a storage request form, contacting hay@brown.edu, or submitting a request in person at the John Hay Library Reader Services desk. Please request materials at least one week in advance of need.
