Project Name: Reference Stats project
Project Orginator: Ronald Fark
Departmental Sponsor: David Stern
Project Description:
In an era of assessment, SR and Circulation are keeping detailed statistics at service desks and by individual librarians. An open source product, LibStats, is available that we could customize for local purposes. It will provide an electronic means for tracking this data.
Why is this project important?
This software will replace a manual system used at service desks and provide a standard site for tracking reference/outreach statistics. ARL will benefit with more accurate reference stat gathering. Our current system of mostly manual stats gathering is labor intensive.
Additional Information:
SR and Circulation will provide input on the categories that need modification for our local purposes. Once the system is operational at the end of the spring, SR will hire a student to input data from the 2008/2009 academic year.
