The Library oversees the audiovisual technology that is available in the large auditoriums on campus. These venues enhance the educational opportunities on campus by serving both as very large classrooms as well as spaces where forums on a large range of topics are held. These rooms are performance spaces where students with an array of talents can showcase their abilities. They are soapboxes where notable speakers from across the globe are able to bring their thoughts, ideas and experiences to the Brown community. These events are captured with digital video cameras and technologies that allow for online streaming. As a result, these auditoriums make use of the broadest range of audio and video resources in support of the array of activities that occur. This opportunity will endow the technology in one major auditorium to ensure that the audio and video experience matches the needs and wants of those on stage and keeps pace with the changing audiovisual landscape.
