Comfortable, quiet study space in the Library is a high priority for our students. Students flock to the Library in large numbers looking for space that allows them to be focused and productive. This gift would provide furnishings and renovations that would transform an outdated computing cluster and study hall located in the Rockefeller Library (second floor) into a modern, visually appealing, and functional study lounge for students.
The study lounge would offer over 40 individual workstations each providing a computer for research and writing as well as ample desk space for reading and for study. The lounge would also offer flexible seating options that could be easily configured for individual or group study, with ample electrical outlets to support the extended use of wireless laptops.
