This year’s First Readings selection is The Beak of the Finch by Jonathan Weiner. The book relates the story of biologists Peter and Rosemary Grant, whose ground-breaking study of the finches of the Galapagos Islands extends Darwin’s thinking about evolution into a new century. Oct. 14th Jonathan Weiner, author of this year’s first readings book, The Beak of the Finch, will speak about the book on 10/14, at 7 p.m. in 101 Salomon on the Main Green. Hear this award-winning writer talk about the evolution of his book, which began on Brown’s campus.
