Brown InfoGate Resources

What resources are included in InfoGate? All databases in the alphabetical and subject lists on the Library web are included, as are Josiah and many other library catalogs, as well as many free resources which have been configured for this product. Search for a specific database in InfoGate or browse the lists of resources below. To request that an item be added to InfoGate, contact libweb@brown.edu

  • Cross-Searchable Resources may be searched simultaneously within InfoGate in groups of up to ten. Fully cross-searchable resources use Z39.50, Open Archives Initiative (OAI), XML or custom programming to search and retrieve combined results without leaving the InfoGate interface. Other resources are cross-searchable within InfoGate but results are viewed within the native interface. Resources in the lists below are cross-searchable. Within InfoGate these resources appear with a magnifying glass icon.

  • Link-only Resources are not cross-searchable within InfoGate either because the publisher does not comply with a metasearch standard or because they are simple web pages without search functionality. Clicking on the title of such a resource opens a new window to the native interface where you may conduct your search. The list below does not include Library Resource Guides, all of which are linked within InfoGate.

  • New (or newly configured) Resources are added continually to InfoGate. Library Subject Specialists use the list below to add new resources to Library Resource Guides.
