Most are available in large collections which can be searched through the publisher's interface; all are individually cataloged in JOSIAH (search for titles below). Gallica
Developed and maintained by the Bibliothèque nationale de France, Gallica is a vast and growing collection of digitized resources in French and other Western European languages. It currently offers over 100,000 digitized texts and 300,000 images. The emphasis of the site is on documents of historical or cultural value. Some sections of the site focus on literary collections such as Gallica classique, on specific themes such as Proust or utopia, or on a particular format such as periodicals. Global Reference Center
Global Reference Center, from the publishers of the Encyclopaedia Britannica Online, consists of several foreign language resources. Titles include: Encyclopedia Universalis, a French-lanuage encyclopedia; Britannica Online Korea; Britannica Online Japan; Britannica Concise Encyclopedia in Chinese; and the Spanish Reference Center which includes the Enciclopedia Modernaand Escolar.
Oxford Islamic Studies Online
Current; Oxford Islamic Studies Online is a comprehensive reference center with a global perspective and is a source of timely, reliable, and accessible information on the history, peoples, beliefs, individuals, and cultures that constitute the world of Islam. The site includes two essential English-language interpretations of the Qur'an, the first electronic version of the standard Concordance used by English-speaking scholars around the world, and primary source documents. Special features and tools include timelines, Qur'an Verse Look-up, a Date Converter for Western and Islamic calendar dates, and more.
Deep Searching of eBooks with InfoGate
In addition to using Josiah for known items (author/title) and for LC Subject Heading searching, there are other ways to search deeply into some subscribed ebooks and many free ebooks: Google Book, Internet Archive, and Project Gutenberg searching and linking can be performed within these options.
- Enhanced searching of full text (chapters, indexes, and Table-of-Contents) -- use subject QuickSets and general QuickSet.

Good for very specific searching, and discovering detailed portions of larger general works. Searches across aggregated full-text services (e.g. Early English Books, engineering handbooks, etc).
Not as good for general subject discovery ... see Josiah for controlled vocabulary and broad subject headings ... and to discover LC call number ranges for browsing the physical book stacks.
- Seamless federated searching of Josiah and fulltext ebooks
The QuickSets above offer one-stop searching of both Josiah and deep fulltext searching. This allows for both keywords within online texts and controlled subject headings within library subject catalogs. The less sophisticated search interface does not offer the best of either service, but it provides a good compromise for starting research. This will often lead researchers to more powerful native mode searching in various platforms.
