Established in 1981 by Walter G. Barney, Class of 1936 in memory of his grandfather, Walter H. Barney, Class of 1876; his father, W. Howard Barney, Class of 1905; and his eldest son, Walter H. Barney, Class of 1963, for unrestricted library acquisitions, with a preference for additions to Special Collections.
