Sidney R. DeLong:

Born in 1828 in Clinton County, New York, Sidney R. DeLong came to Arizona as a private in the First California Infantry in 1862, rising from private to quartermaster of the regiment. He settled in Tucson in 1866, and joined the Tully and Ochoa company. He was a participant in the Camp Grant Massacre in 1871, and in the same year was elected as mayor to Tucson.
