Rio Grande:

The Rio Grande (Spanish: "Big River"), known in Mexico as Rio Bravo ("Brave River"), rises in southern Colorado and flows through New Mexico and Texas, forming the border between southern Texas and Mexico. Since the conclusion of the Mexican-American War in 1848, it has demarcated the border between the United States and Mexico, a border previously marked by the Nueces River.
