Globe:

This central Arizona town takes its name from the nearby Globe Mining District. Prospecting in the mines began in the mid 1870s, and the town was founded in the latter part of the decade as "Globe City." The name "Globe" supposedly is linked to the prospector's claims of a large silver mine in the hills surrounding the region.
